Vitol Asia Pte Ltd, a leading energy trading company, has expressed its interest in the Greater Sunrise oil and gas fields in East Timor, in partnership with Sacom Energia, a Brazilian energy company. The companies recently met with East Timor President Jose Ramos-Horta to discuss their plans and explore potential opportunities.

The Greater Sunrise fields, located in the Timor Sea, have been a source of dispute between East Timor and neighboring Australia for many years. However, with a recent agreement between the two countries, East Timor has gained control of a larger share of the fields, potentially opening up new opportunities for exploration and development.

Vitol and Sacom Energia have expressed their intention to work with East Timor to explore and develop the Greater Sunrise fields in a sustainable and responsible manner.
